How Consigning Works
Selling your gently used kids' items at Happy Little Hippo is simple, rewarding, and sustainable. Follow these easy steps to turn your outgrown treasures into cash or store credit.
Bring Items to Store
Gather your clean, gently used children's items (newborn to size 10) and bring them to our Santa Barbara boutique during business hours. No appointment needed!
Item Evaluation
Our friendly team will review your items for condition, style, and seasonality. We accept clothing, shoes, toys, baby equipment, and gifts in excellent, gently used condition.
Pricing Agreement
We'll discuss pricing based on brand, condition, and demand. You choose cash or store credit—credit earns you more! We handle all tagging and display.
Sale & Payment
Once your item sells, you receive payment! Our standard consignment period is 60 days. Unsold items can be donated or picked up—we'll notify you either way.

What We Accept for Consignment
To ensure a smooth process and the best experience for everyone, we have clear guidelines for the items we accept. This helps us maintain quality for our shoppers and fair pricing for our consignors.
Condition Requirements
All items must be gently used, clean, and undamaged. We look for items free of stains, tears, missing pieces, or excessive wear. Please launder clothing and wipe down toys and equipment before bringing them in.
